Looks good Lance. If it's making too much noise for you, here's a tip: Go get some of that insulated flexible duct from the hardware store. Use that to make a longer run to the filter. It helped mine a great deal.

That is a great set up Lance. For us small shop, small budget types I'd strongly recommend another Oneida Product.

I was using a shop vac for my dust control in my small shop. When using the drum sander I would have to clean/replace the filter after about ten passes. It was a real bear (no offense Serge)That made the drum sander hard to use and messy!

I added this to my system (got the Dust Deputy DYI model for about $130 and added a 5gal paint can, the one on the right) and it is GREAT!!!

Now I can sand all day, just having to empty the 5 gal dust deputy drum a few times. The filter in the shop vac stays amazingly clean. I'd guess I'd just have to change or clean it after maybe 10 hours of drum sanding.

For the small shop without a dust collection system it is a must have. (No, I don't have anything to do with the company but I wish I did)Joe Beaver39044.558900463

Hey, Lance, did you use all plastic piping for the duct runs? Did you attempt to ground everything?

Also, is it a 2 hp unit and are you running it on 110 or 220?

I'm curious does that exhaust canister have to be down like that, or can it be lifted to clear floor space, or is it not an issue?

The thing looks noisy as Heck, but I have a feeling it's not!

At a shop I worked at they had all the machine power switches relayed to the vac so you only had to run it when the machines were on, I don't know specifics about how they did it, but it was cool!

Congratulations on a great buy! Clean setup!

Billy, the exhaust can be pretty much anywhere you want it to be. I've got mine in a seperate room. The main cyclone is in my garage and the exhause is in my shop to try to keep the heat/humidity in check.
I've seen those relay switches as well. Great idea but pretty expensive if I recall. I put mine on a wall switch in the middle of the shop so I'm only a couple of steps away from it at all times.
