David...Thanks so much for the kind gesture and help on this. I'll make sure to document this repair to help as many as possible.

Brock & Don...there will be no sunburst on this Sapele. I'd be justifiably dismissed from "Zootophiles Anonymous"!

Sorry to hear of your guitar accident JJ. Been there done that !!!! Had one hanging for finish and this is a true story, had it rigged to a rope in my garage that was attached to the overhead door for finishing. Last coat of finish was done so I left the garage and hit the close button on the way out which raised the guitar to the roof top and then dropped it

If they had a Darwin Award for guitar builders I am sure I would win

Rich,
So you think you own the Darwin award.
That sounds like a challenge for another topic.

regards,
Tom Armstrong

JJ, man oh man sorry for your mishap.

With the brace being cracked are you now definitely taking the back off?

I must say I am impressed with your productive and positive attitude -- it's the reason you'll fix and overcome.

Well my friend , I think the best thing I can say is that it wasn't TIPPIE.
I am sure you will fix it nicely. A beer may help

Yes, I'll second John's recommendation and I'll throw in a significant Single Malt Scotch!
