Well, I was mentioning in Sylvan's post about the Tony Karol circle cutter that you can make a simple edge guide for it as well, so I thought that I would show a picture.

Simple of course, just use the center pin as the "guide" on the block and than screw it up to the UHMW, be sure to drill a pilot hole first

Now you have a micro adjust edge guide as well.

That did give me another idea when you first mentioned it Rod ... I just havent figured out how to make it foolproof yet - I use a simple fence when routing back strips into backs, and then shim the router base with masking tape to widen a slot - what I want to do is make this jig work for that, then I can just dial it in - but it needs to work flat, with no ledge as this application does, unless of course, I redesign the whole jig to work around this kind of set up - the wheels are grinding, will let you know what I come up with.

Tony, just remove the pin and use the block against the fence (a low one like a ruler) instead of the base. You can then micro adjust with the knob.

Thanks Alain .. I see how that would work, but I need to have a higher fence, somehting a little more fool proof .. I need to see how high I can get away with over the adjuster rod, maybe a 1/4 inch will do - but the fence needs to be fairly stiff as well, you dont want it to bow at all while routing the channel fo the back strip - maybe some 1/4 inch aluminum ... hmmm
