Subject :: 2007 OLF Subscriptions – Time to Renew – Even More Value!!

Official Luthiers Forum Paid Subscriber

Ok folks Brock and I have put our heads together to offer a 2007 OLF subscription deal that is even better than last year’s, has more value, and is potentially easier for us to administer. So we will be doing things a little different this year, but I think you will agree that this package is even BETTER.

First, understand that these subscriptions provide a bulk of the funding we need to pay for our technology to run the forum, custom programming, hosting, advertising, and other new initiatives we have in the works. Additionally, through the distribution of great saving offers this helps our suppliers – (the ones who take such great care of us throughout the year) – drive their business as well. We think this is truly a win for everyone.

Here is what is in this year’s line up:

A   new OLF t-shirt – in our new 2007 colors (brown shirt with gold type)

Your membership dues will be paid to ASIA and you will receive GUITARMAKER magazine.

Through this relationship you will receive a complimentary subscription to ACOUSTIC GUITAR MAGAZINE.

We will be including an official OLF coffee mug.

A complimentary one-year subscription to one of the hottest new guitar magazines out there THE FRETBOARD JOURNAL.

(check out the fretboard journal web site HERE)

And a package of savings opportunities from our advertisers.

I think you will agree that the market value is easily worth far in excess of the membership price of $125 (and it helps support our community).

Understand there is no obligation to do this.

------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------

FAQ

What if I am already an ASIA member?

We will add 1 year to your membership.

What if I am already an AG subscriber?

We will add one year to your Acoustic Guitar Magazine subscription

I had problems with my shirt last year. Will things be better this year?

That is certainly the plan. Last year we bought shirts in anticipation of people signing up so we could ship them immediately. However, we invariably ran into situations where we were out of some sizes, and had tons of other sizes. So this year we thought we would take membership orders through the end of January, see what size shirts we need then order them (plus a few extras) to make sure we have enough of every size. We think that will be better for everyone.

What is The Fretboard Journal?

The Fretboard Journal is a new quarterly magazine aimed at guitar enthusiasts. Not Luthiers per se, and not players per se. This magazine is kind of what you would expect to find if Guitarmaker and Acoustic Guitar got married. It is beautifully produced and of a superior quality (think National Geographic for guitars). It is simply beautiful. We are sure you will love this new magazine.

What’s up with the Coupons?

Our advertisers are putting their heads together now to come up with some great deals. However in the past we have offered buy-one-get-one deals, free shipping, percentage discounts, offers on new products and tons of other great savings opportunities. If you buy from the OLF suppliers these coupons alone are worth the price of subscribing. We will package these and send these out to all subscribers in mid Feburary.

Done! Lance -- I just signed up -- there was no field for T-Shirt size. So a size large will do very nicely thank you!

Done...so even though I re-subscribed to ASIA last week for 2007, my membership will now be paid through 2008. Will I get an acknowledgement from ASIA to confirm this?

We can ask them to. Once we have submitted this I suspect if you contact Nadine she can confirm this.

Our plan is to submit them as a batch, so once that has happened we will let everyone know and they can check with ASIA to make sure all is good.

If you renew anytime before the end of January any size you need will not be a problem. After January, we are likely to inventory only L and XL.

Thanks Lance and Brock, i joined almost a year ago, 3 days to go, and i never expected to be such a wonderful year with you great hosts, your forum formula is the best there is and sets the table for great friendships and brotherhood, harmony and sharing, it also allows me to be who i am and i hope my Bear silliness makes the kids on your laps grin and laugh with joy and happiness.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for building and making my second home the warmest place on earth, i'll make sure to renew my subscription in the coming days.

Best Regards

Serge

Lance, Brock --

I hate to make things complicated, but is there a way for those of us in this category to support/subscribe to OLF? I don't need another copy of Guitarmaker or Acoustic Guitar Mag ... would love to get the mug and T-shirt, though! Perhaps subtract the cost of annual ASIA membership, or the like?

Or, another random thought: we may have folks participating who aren't able to come up with the funds for subscription. Maybe there is a way for some of us to anonymously sponsor a subscription for someone (and get a mug )

Thoughts?

Jim
