The FOLK (friends of lance kragenbrink) OLF Guitar was started to commemorate the ONE year Anniversary of the OLF. The OLF 2 Guitar Project was initiated as a charity guitar, but became a gift guitar Mid-project.

In the spirit of the season, and to encourage these projects to completion, I'd like to thank everyone who worked on, supplied materials, or sent cash to speed these projects on their way.

One thing we've learned, it's easier to be enthusiastic when something like this pops up, but in the out-working it becomes a solitary event at our shops and completely dependent on those involved.

Speaking as one who worked on both projects, I have a vested interest to see they proceed. Many have more invested in time and money than I myself. It was fun and kind of a rush to participate.

Merry Christmas. It truly is better to give than to receive. Can we finish both of these instruments soon? Let's try.

Great post Bruce, I too hope to see these guitars finished soon, although I have nothing invested into either of them.

I do see that there are two other forum locations for them and I think OLF#1 is at finish.

Don't know where #2 is at though.

What else is needed for #2, it would be good to know as we have a large number of new members who would probably be able to help out.Rod True39076.0224652778

Hey Rod, you bet. No sense not lighting the fires and kicking the tires. We've all had a lot of fun working and planning out this guitar.Bruce Dickey39076.8514583333

Bruce, I still need to send the pickup on guitar #2 to whomever is going to do the install. I was supposed to send it to Michael Payne but it slipped my mind. Thanks for the memory jog. Glad to see you here.

Hi Don,
Since Michael was at the helm on #2, I was unaware of the pickup offer. I believe there were some changes on #2, but for the life of me, I don't have a clue what they are. Maybe Michael will chime in on this thread?
Bruce

Hi Bruce,
I am waiting on the guitar from Adam. The last I knew it was sprayed and waiting on buffing.

Thanks Tim,

Yes, we were so fortunate to have Addam jump in and take on the finishing. Hopefully he'll be along and chime in as to any progress or oops that happened since we visited with him last, Bruce

I signed off on this project a while back. It has run too long for me to be able to say when I could do the finish. Between work and build schedule I have all I can take on at present. I posted a help needed on the build 2 forum but got no reply other than Lance. I believe John How turned over the neck to body to John Watkins. After that I have not heard anything. I have the Ameritage case just waiting to see who I should send it to.MichaelP39078.6606134259

Okay, so Guitar #2 has no leader. We all understand Michael P.

I'm waiting on a reply from John H. as John W. offered to do the neck.

I believe it's possible to revive this project.

Michael, do you have the list of who offered what? That might be of help at this point?

The FOLK OLF Guitar is at Addam Stark's for finishing. He replied that it was on track for late January or thereabouts.

I talked with Brock, and he reviewed the posts on the OLF #2 and it appears to be correct to him. Thanks for the phone call Brock.

Sorry for the holiday delay here. I just have not had time to do anything with this including shipping. I recently had a year end and new model introduction special and now I have a nice little backlog of guitars to make. Yeehaw, I guess!!! Anyway if John Watkins is still willing I will get the guitar packaged up and shipped in the next couple of days.

Don Atwood, will let you know on the pickup.

Michael Payne, will let you know on the Ameritage case, do you still want the Access Stage 5? If not we could see what George wants to do. TIA, Bruce

Thanks Michael, how about the list? Do you have a list of the folk who had donated or made offers on this #2. That would help if you can find it easy enough. Thanks for all you did on the effort.

Bruce I have the list you e-mailed me on June 30 2005. I could never get everyone to confirm. And never got a list of those that donated money after the fact.

Michael McClain is on for setup, furnishing the unbleached bone nut and saddle. We are clarifying that he will or will not install the bridge and tuners. Lemme know.

All right, here is something we need for this guitar, a bridge and a set of tuners. What do ya'll think about a brazilian headplate and bridge with this binding scheme. I think that would work with the bloodwood binding and ebony fretboard? Comments?
