Greetings from the Sunshine Coast of BC. Thought I might post a few pic
of my first, and after bending my first side won't be my last, build.

The cutaway

Neck and heel blocks in

That was a bit of work. Maybe I'll just buy one next time. Probably not.

Very rare zebra cedar from the Powell River area. I really didn't want a
top that looked like my sundeck. I had a huge pile to choose from.
Taped about 10 and so far have discovered they all sounded very much
like a piece of wood being tapped on. I think I'll cut up some 2x6's and
see if I can tell the difference.

Kind of a Torres bracing pattern.

Looks like a pretty great site and a wealth of info that builders are willing
to share. I think I may have a couple of questions along the way.

Cheers,
Danny

Danny, Welcome to the OLF.
You show great promise.
Nice top, very nice brace job as well.
I don't know beans about classicals, but it looks good.

Your first looks great!, nice rosette also.
Your comment on tapping the wood, leads me to
think you did not get a ring like sound.
Forgive me if you already know this, but it does
make a differance where you hold and tap it to get
the ringing sound. Hope this helps.

Tom

Thanks for your kind comments and encouragement. My friend told me
before I started that the craft could become a bit of an obsession and I
thought "I'm not really that type of person". Little did I know.

Tom, I was being a little tongue in cheek on the tap tones. I can kinda hear
what's going on but to tell the difference between good, better, best I have a
long way to go.

All The Best,
Danny
