JJ if you mean is #9 finer than #7 the answer is no. The #9 swirl remover is courser than the #7 polish

Befor I got my buffer, I would final sand with MicroMesh though 12000 then use Maquire's #9 swirl remover buff out with car buffer then #7 polish and buff out with car buffer I have used 3m's Perfectit as the polish as well. It is just about the same as #7

One more thing Lance, I find that both the #9 and #7 goes on a bit too wet at application. I load my pad and allow it to set for about two min. I pad on in with a firm random circular motion then allow to haze hard before I buff out.

Michael: I apply my #7 just the opposite. I apply by hand and then polish it while it is still wet [by hand]. It is just too hard to remove [by hand] after it hazes over. I have not noticed any measureable differnce in the gloss either way.

Tim I do most of the hand polishing while still wet but let it haze tobuff off. It's funny I find it easer to get off after it has hazed, but I am using a small hand buffer. not buffing off by hand.

I let it just haze over and then buff it off by hand. It may be a little more work, but it seems like I get a better shine that way than if I buff it off wet.
