Hi guys, been out of the loop for a bit. Looks like I will not be coming down. Thanks for the offer Todd. You're one very generous guy. I'm sure everyone will appreciate the food you're bringing too. That's a killer deli. I am going be visiting Md again this spring/summer. Maybe Sylvan's too.

Have a blast guys! Post lots of pix.
I'm bringing the DSLR and a very good video cam, and hope to get some good stuff. Not sure on where to post the material, but I'll figure something out...
That is really cool, thanks Todd!

WOW...this has all the makings of a fantastic gathering. I would love to attend but will just have to wait for the feedback from our brothers in attendance.

Todd...great idea on the video! Looking forward to the review. Post soon!

Video! Great idea. Todd, thanks so much for the head start on the jig. Got into it finally last night (got a nasty cold over the last week)Should finish it today. Then I start building my brother's guitar. Got my Gotoh 510's from Peter M yesterday too, my cnc neck while I was in MD, so I'm ready to go.

Really hope y'all have a blast!

Todd -
I think I have the coffee covered but I actually have no idea of how many
people are really going to show up. If we don't have enough we can always
get more in town.
I am thinking that lunch will be pizza delivered or someone can get it.
Sandwiches, too depending on what everyone wants.
See you a few minutes early. Thanks for the help!

I'll definitely be there, along with John Temple and Mike Mears.

What do folks need? We've got fish glue and shellac coming already. Anything else anybody needs? Hide glue? Cedar tops? Maybe we could get a running list going and attempt to bring what we can spare/swap, etc.

What else are folks planning to bring ... works in progress, completed instruments, jigs?

This is gonna be fun!

Sylvan - I can't make it this time but my wife's family are just down the road in New Market, so the next time we're up there I'll give you a call and maybe come by to see your shop if you have time.

                       Peace, Paul

Well Todd was the photographer/videograher. He took a lot, so be patient, you won't be dissapointed. He aslo has a home project he & Cathy are trying to finish.

I hope someone got all the names....I didn't catch em all. There's a couple guys I enjoyed talking shop with.

Next time name tags with names & screen names would help!

I had a great time at the open house. Met some really cool people and got to see and play some awesome guitars!! As a newbie to this thing it was pretty cool getting to meet some of these folks in person right off the bat. Thanks to Todd for the great grub. Many salutations to John Hall for the cool demonstrations on inlay and dovetail joint fitting. Major props to Sylvan for opening the shop up for the event. Hopefully this trend will continue and we'll get to see the shops and hook up with other in the future. Also, John Coleman, who brought the sapele sets is dipping his toe in the luthier supply waters (for wood anyway. I picked up some really nice maple from him about a week ago. Check him out at www.awesomewood.com. He will likely be posting some luthier related wood stuff on his site before long. Nice meeting everyone!!
I have video of John Hall's inlay demo, and about 150 shots of people, jigs, demos, and Sylvan's nicely laid out and equipped shop. I will need a little bit to convert the video to a YouTube thing, and I'll start posting the top-level pics here as soon as Lance and Brock get to the bottom of the pic posting issue that seems tied to the site issues noted in another thread.
I don't have a problem. Just mail them to me and I will post them. (Probably tomorrow though).

Many thanks to Sylvan for being such a gracious host, to John Hall for his inlaying and dovetail-fitting demonstations, and to everyone for the wonderfull fellowship.
My apologies for not being able to particpate fully- I am still recovering from major surgery(I had ny neck rebuilt earlier this month) and am still fairly well medicated. Hopefully the next time we meet I will be at least a little more extroverted.
Again, thanks to everyone!!
