I woke up this morning to a very nasty email that I thoroughly deserved from one of my customers whose order was very late. As I never want to get one of those again, I am suspending new orders for custom work until March 1st to get caught up. Items such as tools and bargain basement stuff will continue to ship when ordered, but the semi-custom neck and fingerboard orders will be shelved until March 1st. Obviously, if you already have an order in, this does not apply to you. Contact me with any questions.

Thanks,

John

As you say John,

Maybe the rev from your customer with the late order was well deserved, but you show great form and consideration to all by making our community aware of your commitment to your current work load.

It has been my experience, especially when dealing with
CNCguitarparts.com, that good things do come to he who waits.

Thanks for the heads up mate.

Cheers

Kim

It is good to see a business that has true values. I know what you are going through. Growing pains and lots of leaning

Nice, John. Thanks also for the heads up. Seems like the vast majority of our OLF suppliers have the kind of values that I'd love to see in the "real world."

Now, please get things caught up during the winter months because when spring comes and the fairways are green again, I don't want you cancelling a tee time with me because of some silly orders that have to be filled

Thanks, Hesh. If I can get the "when I do" more in line with the "what I do", I should be in good shape.

John,

You'll be back on track before you know it.

Getting involved in a new business venture makes me think of getting on
a merry go round. Standing there looking at it, it seems manageable.
Then you decide to hop on, but it turns out that it's going a lot faster
than you think. Then you wonder if you should have gotten on in the first
place, or you think about getting off. But by now it's going faster, and
jumping off might be worse than staying on. So, you stay on and after
awhile it seems to slow down, or perhaps you just learn to deal with the
fast pace as the learning curve flattens out a bit.

Best of luck, you offer some great stuff.

John, I hope my huge order isn't the cause of your current backlog.

It is great that you started this thread to let folks know what is going on. Sometimes we forget that we are not the only person that our vendors are dealing with. Forge ahead, you'll be caught up in no time.

I recently ( several weeks ago) rec'd my kerf lining clamps. I must say they are realy GREAT! I also ordered a pre-cut neck that was on sale and it too was spectacular. When John gets caught up...place an order...you won't be sorry!!!!

Such an elegant problem to be faced with...keep the faith, John. You have great and unique products and the customers are validating that. You'll figure out a way to get the issues resolved.

And here's my golf tip to consider as you go forward with your expanding business:
"If you have a handicap of 25, you have no business playing golf...if your handicap is 2, you have no business."

Good advice, JJ.

I've gotten about a dozen emails from OLFers expressing their willingness to wait a little longer if it brings me a little more sanity. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the sense of community that I derive from that sort of outporing.

Thanks, guys!
