Now that type of playing from the World Music guys impresses me much more than the slick, overblown modern guitar players we hear so often these days, the ones that seem to be simply out to impress with their technique. That guy plays music! Just solved his dexterity need in an off-the-wall kind of way. I'd happily pay good money to see that guy play.

In the Carribean, Cuba, Africa there are players that play in a way that has been lost in the more enlightened west. The late great Ali Farka Toure from Mali was probably among the half dozen greatest players of all time, but how many here have heard of him?

hey Colin you hit the nail on the head. I was saddened to see some of the comments left by people who obviously have no idea what a talented person is.I would also pay to see that man play.His intonation was right on. Now that was the real Spoonful lol!
