Can anyone suggest a method of stripping a layer of somebody else's paint off a factory gold top ?

Thanks,

Tough one, and there would be a lot of variables depending on the
instrument and the finish used.

I would post this question over in the main forum, as this one is pretty much
visited just for local Michigan events and gatherings.

Yes Bryan, it's there all right, and comes up nicely with the scraper, stuck to the back of the paint flakes. I have committed to re-doing the gold top. I have some bronze powder from yesteryear, should work fine. If not .. looks like natural amber ;>)
