I once saw a tool (can't remember if it was something on the web or something you downloaded) that helped you design tiles for rosettes. Does anybody remember this?

Brock, it works for me. You have to fill in each row of the tiles and each stick in every row, but it does fill in once you do all that.

Brock, you might have to download a plugin for it (thats what I get).

Also the Windows "Paint" program can be zoomed in on enough to show a grid, where each pixel would represent one piece of the mosaic. It works pretty well.

What plug in do you need? Usually when I need a plug in Windows comes up and asks me if I want to install it, but on this I just get a broken image.

I'm not sure what plugin is needed. When I clicked on the link it just worked for me. I guess I could have already had the right plugin installed though.

That's pretty cool, I wish I had that when I did my tile roosette. I just used a 1/8" grid and a pencil.

I'd like to know how some people cut those little glued up logs into tiles?
After all that work I wouldn't want to see half of it end up sawdust. I supose
one of those picture frame slicers would work?

Normally I just make a little miter box, and use an X-Acto razor saw.

Never seen an X-Acto razor saw but it sounds very cool....and sharp.

being a troglodytic technodope, i used mm graph paper and coloured pencils. given my state of mental decrepitude it would still probably be far quicker than trying to learn a new bit of software.
