For my semi-holow tele, I purchased a Tele neck from Stu Mac but have decided I want a Gibson type headstock. Could I possibly use a scarf joint to add Gib. headstock to neck w fender headstock removed? Add volute for strength?
Thanks,bob J39113.4620486111

Bob I've never seen the StewMac tele neck up close in person -- so not sure I could give you a qualified answer.

Seeing your question though makes me wonder -- why would you want to put a Gibson type headstock on a thinline Tele body style? If it's the traditional Gibson moustache shaped headstock it'll look really odd.

Unless by Gibson style you are thinking a funky shaped 3 on each side tuner design headstock.

Please do not take offense with my questions and comments as none were intended.Anthony Z39113.5174074074

or the explorer type heastock.

I don't think you could realistic modify a SM neck.

They are reasonably simple to make. Just build one.

Over on the Jam Session forum there was a guy who did SOMETHING along these lines......

full thread here

English is not Hookway's first language (he's scandinavian) but his English is still a LOT better than my Norwegian!!
This is under contstruction but I will let you know whats going on so far...

I'm bulding a flying V with a own buildbody but I've use a Epiphone neck wich I glue into to body with a special trix of my own.

(on the pics the neck not in fit)

Can something be more ugly than the terrible Epiphonehead?

Plugged...

Time to "kill" the head

And it's already look alright!

New "wings" in maple...

Going to be something like this... have'nt decide yet if I should go the Gibsonway or my own...
My body shape will be modified Tele and I simply like the look of the Gibson headstock better.
