Right on dude, nothing like stringing up your first guitar. Hey it looks great, give it a day or two and it'll sound even better. Oh and get back to work, #2 is waiting!!

Very nice Richard. I’m close to finishing my no. 1 based on the Kinkead plans. I also decided to try FP’ing and am currently on my 5th body session so the end is in sight. Seeing yours is like seeing a bit of a preview for me. How's the tonal balance? Thanks.

Beautiful first guitar...very attractive wood combo!
Nicely done. Indeed, what's up next?

Well done, that looks very sweet! I aspire to something half as nice
looking as that when i finnish my first.

LarryH - I just took a big chunk out of my fretboard which made my heart
sink for a while, it think it should patch up ok though. Care to elaborate
as to how you have managed to get through 3 truss rods?

John.

I hope my SECOND turns out that well-if it doesn't I'm selling all my tools...

BEAUTIFUL!

Very tasteful appointments, I especially like the koa faceplate and bindings. I didn't realise how nicely they went with walnut.

Thanks again everyone.

I've ordered the wood for the next one - Black Limba

Not sure about the model yet - was thinking SJ but aparently the plans have sold out. Maybe another the same. Might try a cutaway ?? Definately gonna do some simple purfling .And be a bit more daring with the braces !!

Doug . At 2 days old to my heavily biased ear she sounds suprisingly well balanced. Especialy when using a plectrum. Playing with fingers I'd say the bias is more towards mids and trebles.Undoubtedly overbraced - but I'm lucky enough not to posess a high end guitar to compare with . The change in the last 2 days has been big I'm planning to try and record something in the next day or two then do a comparison in a few weeks time to see how things develop.

Ron - she currently travels in a Jumbo case with a couple of folded up T shirts for padding !! I will be case shopping soon - I'll keep you informed

[/QUOTE] Uh...No...just kidding, and I do not intend to hijack this thread on a great guitar but I haven't actually ruined 3 truss rods, I had to order 3 in order to get it the correct size for my 12 fret neck set-up. First one came from LMI was too long and wouldn't fit the route in my StewMac neck, second was too long from bone head thinking and so on....

Again great guitar!!
