I have a 1/2 dozen guitar boxes I bought from Uline back a few years ago, I cant use them because they are to narrow front to back. I would prefer 3" padding on the front and back of the guitar, and at least that amount at the top and bottom also.

Any good sources for larger guitar boxes?

THX

Lance,

Try this. You may have to call as it's not listed on their site, but they have a "guitar box" that's oversized. It's the perfect size.http://www.econobox.com

One thing you might consider if you ship USPS is that the Uline boxes are just under the size limit. If you go with a bigger box then you will have oversize shipping costs. I am not sure what the requirements are for Fed Ex and UPS

Lance,

A possible solution for you, rather than looking for a deeper box, is to improve your packing material. You can buy styrofoam "residential foam sheathing insulation" from one of the big box stores in 4'x8'x.75" sheets, and cut it to fit the inside of the box. It's pretty stiff stuff. I have some here, and have begun using it inside ULine boxes for side padding when I ship guitars. So far, so good.

Best,

Michael
