I did this just the other day. I used a shap 1/4 chisel coming down from othe top of the linings tangent to the guitar side. It was the reverse kerf lining and it took just a few minutes. To remove the glue I used a little hot vinegar and a scraper. cleaned up really well.
I hate it when this happens.

Thanks Jim.
These are the C-Fox style, there solid on the gluing side, So they wont pop off piece at a time

Thanks anyhow. I will use your hot vinegar trick though.

What glue are you using, Lance. Perhaps it will weaken with heat applied to either the lining and/or the side.

Lance, who on earth would want to use linings like that!?!
Of course, I'VE NEVER had to do this, but if I did, this is what I would do.
Boil up a pan of water and soak a pallette knife in it. If you have two, even better. Then you can switch when they start to cool. Just slowly work them under the lining until free.
A heat gun might work but you'll have to be very careful not to scorch the sides.
Good luck!

I did that just the other day. I did almost exactly what Paul describes. Ran a bead of water around seam of the linning, let it sit for a while, then heated a pallette knife with a heat gun. Slowly worked it behind the linning, once you have an end popped up it goes quickly with the pallete knife heated by the heat gun.
