have you ever seen those old comedy skits with the guy trying to fold the map??? Yeah,... well that's me.
Thats the trouble with living in a country as big as Australia...the maps are just too big. If you move to New Zealand the map is alot smaller and easier to fold

The plans also include templates for the fingerboard inlays, headplate inlay, and pickguard.

I'll have the molds and bending forms available on my site for sale by the end of this weekend. The molds will be the exact shape on the plans, and the bending forms will be .080" smaller.

I'll also be offering the bridge at a later time.

This is perfect timing. I've been salivating over the Collings version of this guitar for a while and considering building one. Thanks for making this available. Now I'll really have to figure out how to do a sunburst.

Wow, plans, mold, bending form, bridge! Now, if we can just get vendors to make up the inlays and pickguard we'd have a complete kit. And maybe get Ameritage to make a custom case like they did for the OLF SF.

Rick, the MIMF has L-00 plans. Hesh is working on his second one right now. They were drawn by OLF member Mark Swanson. The Lucas was based on that shape, but I don't know if they differ in any way other than depth.

Thanks for putting this together, I just ordered a set.

I was wondering if it'd be possible for those of us who purchased the plan to get a CAD file of just the outline of the shape of the body?

I usually end up taping together photocopies or scanning and tracing in Autocad to make bending patterns, outside molds, etc... Makes it much easier when you have a dwg file and you can offset the thickness of the sides to get the bending form profile, etc...

Michael Payne was kind enough to do this on the OLF SJ and OM plans. I don't know if anyone else took him up on it or if very many have use for it. It'd be very appreciated (but not expected out of obligation). I'd certainly not pass it on to anyone else.

If this is possible, please send the file to:
jon at toolboy.net.
I have the latest Autocad version 2007. I'll be out all next week starting tomorrow so I may not be able to reply right away. Again, thanks for putting these plans together.

I've added the molds and forms to my web site here. There are a few options available for each. Sorry there aren't pictures yet, but time was short. I'll take orders for a week or so and then cut them; probably next weekend.

Re: CAD drawings. I'm sorry, Jon, but I have a conrete policy on the release of original drawings. Lance and Brock don't even have them.

Ours were also taken from tracings of actual guitars. However every one of them were different. I am pretty sure that on the Gibsons there was little consistency from year to year, despite what the marketing materials may have said.

I agree. I like to use actuall production plans or foremans notes. Even martins can vary as much as 1/4"
The plans are ready to go and we will be printing them one off for each order received. They will usually ship within a few day of being ordered.
I ordered a set of these on Feb 19th and still have not received them. Is this a glitch in the postal network or have the plans not been mailed yet?

No, remember, Lance made a post? There were a couple of new features added to the plans - the back bracing and the neck profiles. We just got these today. They will be at duplication tomorrow, and probably in the mail Wednesday.
