Well, I finally have some new pics to show. The first is my 11th
anniversary guitar (it was suppose to be my 10th anniversary guitar but it
took an extra year to get it started)

Mac Ebony/Mahogany SJ

This is a Walnut/Cedar SJ

I hope the files aren't too big.
Thanks for lookin'

Long

WOW! That first one is Smokin' Hot!
That's a totally awesome looking guitar. What's the finish? Looks really warm.
Dude.... I love that mahogany-topped guitar. It's stunning!

I would be very proud of both of those guitars myself.
Very nice.

Really nice. They're both beautiful but I would love to try the mahogany
one.

Bob, those are absolutly gorgous looking guitars there.

Ok, any chance you'll reveil you little secret with the screwless truss rod covers?

Wow, very nice! I really like the body shapes. What is the neck wood in the first one?

What clean work! Those instruments look flawless.
Like Don, I'm impressed with that mahogany top.
And I love the heel shot of the Walnut/Cedar. Great detail...what is the binding?

Wow, absolutely stunning...both of them!

There's something very alluring to me about the mahog/mac ebony model.
I've never seen that combo used before. I'd stand in line just for a chance to
hear/play it!

Thanks for sharing. It's works like these that inspire me and keep me
striving to get better as a builder.

Thank you all, I really feel honored by all the nice comments!

Chris, This is the first mahogany top I have done. I built the top maybe a
bit lighter and I X-braced the back, but otherwise I didn't do anything too
different.
I once owned an all mahogany 1942 Martin 0-17 that sounded great but,
of course it had 50+ years to open up. I think it's going to take a while
for mine to find it's voice. Right now though, I like the way it sounds, it's
very balanced, it's just quiet

Hesh, Yes, the truss rod cover is the same mahogany as the top. It's also
the used for the neck of the cedar top guitar. I found the plank at the
one-and-only, world famous WoodSmith Store in Des Moines Iowa. (You
never know where good wood might turn up).

Clinton, I'm glad you like the shape. It's become my favorite of the body
styles I've done. I came up with this body shape by starting with the basic
dimensions of an SJ case and then drew the body shape to fit within those
parameters.

Don, The finish is KTM9 over shellac and good old fashion McFadden's
pore filler.

Rod, The screwless truss rod covers... I cut 2 pieces of eraser to fit
snugly in the TR slot, and put them in so they sit flush with the headplate,
put a little drop of 5-min. epoxy on each, then tape the cover down in
place until the glue sets. They go on and off without tools, They never
vibrate, and the best part... No Screws!!

Arnt, The neck is maple.

Steve, The cedar guitar is bound with leopardwood.

Thanks so much everyone. It means alot to me to have this forum as a
resource. And it's all of you that makes this forum so worthwhile.

Long

Fantastic Bob!!! Those are both absolutely stunning git-boxes!!!

That screwless cover is particularly mint...
