One of my hero's, Deitrich Bonhoeffer, believed that sometimes you need
to choose between two options with terrible effects. His example was
whether you move the people or stop the driver when a drunk person is
driving on a sidewalk. His issue was being torn about being so devoted
to non-violence and being a significant player in a role to assasinate
Hitler.

This clearly isn't to that degree, but Serge had to choose between two
very hard things. I applaud him for it. Many people simply don't choose
and slowly lose touch with themselves.

Serge, you're deeply admired.

C'est une decision que vous devez prendre, pas je. Je voudrais rester des amis et rester dans le contact. Veuillez ecrire quand vous avez le temps.
Veuillez pardonner mon francais

Serge,

I think you were the very first person to welcome me to the OLF and for that I will always remember you.

I know you have your reason for leaving and whatever it may be we should respect that. I only wish that I could have gotten to know you better because you really do seem like a very upstanding guy. If we don't speak again, I just want you to know that you have made quite an impression on me and I too would sometimes click on a post to read simply because I saw your name was in there and wanted to see what you had to say.

Take care my friend and best wishes to you in the future.
May your path in life always be in happiness.

If you're ever in Texas, look me up and I'll take you out for some Texas BBQ.

Take care,
Blain Ullrich

I too have spoken to Serge and expressed my hope that he can a place within himself that allows him to continue here without jeopardy to who he feels he needs to be. I also re-iterate Rod's comments, Serge holds NO annimosity to ANYONE!!!! On the contrary, he wants to show respect for the rules and be honest with himself about them. Serge is great guy, a tremendous soul and a very good friend. I am not a "believer" as Serge is and he and I have discussed our "faiths' at length (offline and in person of course). Our morals are exactly the same though, follow the golden rule and do unto others as you would have others do unto you.

I hope you find great peace Serge! We will talk again soon!

Shane
I've spoken with our mate Serge, I know what the issues are. Our moderators are pissed at him for flouting the no religion policy. He can't not do it because it's a big part of what makes Serge, Serge.

I personally have never had a problem with the religious content of this site, not at all, and I don't even beleive in god. I personally think it's all a crock of you know what. I do however beleive in Serge.

The no politics and no religion policies of this forum were intended to avoid conflict, there are other places to do that. But when the implimentation of those policies creates an even bigger conflict, then that's just Bull puckie.

So until our mate Serge returns, I'm gone from this place too. I don't beleive in god, but I do beleive in my mate. It's time to draw a line in the sand.
Wow... what do we need to say.

BTW, nobody is p*****d. Perhaps you should gather all the facts before you make statements like this.

I am honestly at my wits end about all of this. Do you have any idea how hard it is to keep this site running, and then to have to continually try to enforce less than half a dozen simple rules to A GROUP OF GROWN, RESPONSIBLE ADULTS is disheartening.

This thread is now closed too. Thanks.
