I just printed a bunch of pictures on my HP printer scanner. The cartridges were replaced new and you guessed it, they're already empty. The quality, well it was fair, not good.

So, I called around and on my second try, found my store: WALGREENS.

I uploaded thirty-five pictures and clicked pay at store. I got an email in 30 minutes that my pictures were ready to be picked up. They also have a mailing service so you don't even have to go pick up.

Anyway, I went down picked up my photos and was back home in less than one hour. The picture quality, incredible, like real pictures and the cost, 19 cents each for glossy 4 by 6 inch prints. Try it. I did and wow, what a great service. Next I'm trying Matte finish with the mailing service. Go Walgreens.

Sweet. I'm not sure what Walgreens uses, but Costco uses the same type
of printing that professional processing centers use.

Good info, Bruce! I'll have to check it out. I am reluctant to do home printing because I can never get the quality I want and as you said...it sucks ink at an amazing rate...and $$$ too!

Good call, Bruce. I've gone the same route. Just not worth the trouble and expense for $.19/print. Also, if you're so inclined, there's a web site I found awhile ago that gives you color profiles of the major printing systems that various places use so you can get great color results. I'll see if I can dig it up.

FWIW, here it is. Turns out it's for Costco, which has the same service. Good info on color management, a lot more than I want to know!

Most good photo shops offer online service now. We get 99% of all of our pictures processed from Walmart. The thing I really like about Walmart (Walgreen's may have the same thing) is that you set up the pictures in an "album" and than you can share the album with anyone you like.

I have a Brother-in-law who lives in Ontario (we ain't driving there in a day kind of far) and we can send him a link to the album, pick some or all of the pictures and have them printed at His local Walmart. We also did this with a friend who lives in Longview WA and it's a really cool little feature.

Heck, I could take some pictures, put them up on the Walmart site and Bruce, you could pick from them and have them printed at the nearest Walmart photo center.

I love it. Also on $0.19 Can$ a print, with or without boarder, glossy or matte 4x6.

I just looked on the US site and they are $0.14 a print same selection.

Careful with that-- make sure you read all their fine print. Last time I checked, if you upload an image to them, they have a disclaimer that they own the copyright to it. May have changed since then, but that's why I don't use the.   

Rod, Well, what can I say, Walmart has a better deal, except in one point. I wanted a company that would in turn, print my pictures, then mail them to me. Walmart doesn't mail, similar to a small independent business here in town, they don't either.

John, I'll look into it as far as copyright, because I handle images from others which are already copyrighted. Namely pictures of paintings for my website: www.naeglefriends.org

I can't be giving away what I don't own now can I? Thanks for the heads up. I just shared my Walgreens Pics of my cabin with my brother, wife, and neice. They can download them or make pics themselves, so if it's copyrighted they wouldn't be able to do that I'd guess. Anyway, I'll check. bd



I don't think they are protected, but it would be impossible to find on the web without being invited as a friend to view the album in which they are hosted. Last week on Tuesday, my son was a page for our state senator. The picture above, if it comes up, is a picture of my family with the Governor of Arkansas at the Arkansas State Capitol.

Somewhere in the middle of Arkansas......

The youngest is a page at the capitol for a day. My wife is so cool, she takes her fifth grade classes each year to the state capitol. They each year get a photo of themselves as a group with the sitting governor.

Well, she saw young people there acting as pages for senators and representatives. Takes a little legwork and phone calling to set it up, but she did this for both our sons. The oldest went as a page to a local state representative, the younger as a page to a local state senator.

So, they know where the laws of our state are made and have a general knowledge of politics. I grew up without a clue. My dad never once registered or voted. Some religious reasoning, but he never passed on the dna, so like a fool, I registered and have voted in each election since I was first married.

My wife is incredible, she said the other day when she retires she wants to work in politics..... Me, I plan on building a few guitars....
