Today is the first day that I've fired up the heat in my shop and am
going to do some work. I haven;t touched a guitar...that I'm building
since last July and really miss working.

I'll be working the newly repaired shoulder to tolerance as per the
surgeon. It'll be like that old comedy act..."Doc, it hurts when I do this."

    "Well then, don't do that."

For the next month or two, it'll be light duty, but that allows me to do
most of the work. I can't hold my Sata spray guns in a postion that allows
me to shoot finish yet, but soon enough.

I just wanted to thank everyone here again for all the encouragement
and for the incredible amount of help you all gave to my family and I
during these past few months. It was appreciated more than we could
ever express.

Just having a place like the OLF to visit often has kept me in the loop
and excited to get back to all the work I have lined up and waiting. I'm
also sure alot of others draw that same inspiration and comfort from
being part of such a great community.

Thanks again,
Kevin Gallagher/Omega Guitars

Kevin that is just terrific news!

Hopefully you can train your other arm to do more of the work when your other shoulder starts to bother you.

I hope you don't over do it and heed the advice of your wife!

That is awesome news Kevin. I'm very glad to hear that you can do some tasks now. In time of course you will be able to get to spraying your wonderful guitars and out the door they will go.

Way to Go!!!!

Great news Kevin. I hope this phase of your recovery is as smooth as silk.
Please be careful when working with tools, especially power tools, until you really know what your arm will do. I don't think you need a nasty table saw kickback to remind you that you don't have the strength you thought you had.
Best, Paul

Kevin, that's great to hear.
I second the idea on letting the other hand learn a few new tricks...that's working for me.

Get some snapshots of your current work with your third hand sometime!

Steve

Kevin,

It's great to hear that you're at the recovery stage where you can start doing what you enjoy again. I'm sure being able to start on the guitars again will help you recover even faster from here on. Send Pics

Kevin-
Glad to hear you are able to get back in the shop.
It sounds like you have a sensible attitude about not 'overdoing' things, so I'm sure you will be fine.

Good Luck!
John

Let me add my congratulations, Kevin. It's wonderful that you coming back, there's a lot of wood out there needing your talent. Can't wait to see some of your results.

Kevin,

So good to hear you're back at it.
If you can train the other hand to do a few tricks they say it feels like
someone else is doing it

So good to hear from you! I hope we'll see some glimpses into your shop. We've never been blessed to see your shop. Can you post some pix? Maybe one of your kids can do a photo shoot while you work. Don't be shy!

You've go lotsa work to catch up on, I know. Great to see you're back in the shop.

Be a blessing!
