Well, here is my first headstock using my new logo cut for me by Mr Watkins I am trying to decide if I want to bind this headstock with brw, that is what the body is bound in. This is for that little Redwood Cocobolo 0-12.

Good looking logo Lance! Do you inlay them yourself or have John do that on the overlay? Can't wait to see this one finished.

Thanks Dave,
Right now I am sending my plates to John and he is doing it for me, in the future I hope to have a routing template that will let me do it my self and John can just supply me my logos.

Boy, your signature is even harder to read than mine! . Looks very nice as a logo, though.

(sorry if that sounded like Rodney Dangerfield "Well, you buy a hat like this, I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh?... Oh, it looks good on you, though." That's not what I meant; I DO think it looks nice!)

I think I'd skip binding on this headstock, the slothead looks great just like that. There is no fretboard binding either, right?

Arnt, the fretboard is bound, but in a matching binding to the board, so no contrast.

RIP Rodney!

Thats someting for you guys to think aboutwhen you design your logo, where it sits on the headstock ,can it fit with binding and pearl? Mine is closer than I would like!

Very Nice
Beautiful cocobolo. If you bind the headstock, you don't want to draw away
from that pretty cocobolo. Personally I would bind it with some simple
Ebony. But if the guitar is not bound in a similar fashion, it may conflict.

Lance, that looks perfect just as it is.
Since your f/b won't have the "bound" look,
I see no reason to add it to the peghead.
And, MAN I like that peghead.

What's the wood, BRW?

That looks great Lance. Nice and classy, that logo!

I'm with the rest. That headplate has so much going for it, you don't really need to add anything.

Very nice!

Looks good to me, too, as it is. I'm looking forward to seeing some glamour shots of that guitar when it's finished!

Lance,

very cool! I had Dwight over at 73ideas design my logo based off my actual signature. I think that style is way cool. What did you use to route out the pattern? There are some areas of my logo that are skinnier than my router bit. It looks like your may be just as skinny.

Cheers!

John

Looks fantastic, Lance. I think CNC was a good decision, by hand, quite the challenge.

Very classy. I like the bookmatched head plate...it looks so good I wouldn't mess with it. No binding needed.

That is a great looking peghead! I really like the stylized signature that just fades out in the middle. Believe it or not, Steve and I were contemplating doing something similar with kinnaird and I do believe that it would look nearly the same as Kragenbrink. Hmmmmm.

Leave the headstock as is...it's a classic look, crisp and clean.

Hey Lance,

I hope those big 'ol wrenches on the wall are for tuning your tablesaw! Hard to imagine you do that clean guitar work of yours with a monkey wrench!!
