lots of McPherson guitars....
John,
Start a new thread and give us an update on the job at McPherson. How is it working there, good conditions, nice folks, and great guitars? How did the move go?
Tracy

Rick, you old pack rat!!!    You've been holding out on us! That one could stand up next to Hesh's "Black Tiger" and not be embarrased, and that's sayin' somethin'!

This is Koa / Adirondack. The rosette is burled maple and red heart ab. The fb is madrose, and the bridge is brw. I haven't decided whether I will bind this in koa with a microline b/w/b line, or in brw.

Brock, that bridge looks like MDF to me, something you learned from Ervin . Just kidding.

I really like that rosette, the red heart sure accents the burl nicely.

Also the book match at the tail is impeccable, shame that there will be a tail wedge there, (or will there?).

Depending on what I decide to bind with I will try to keep as much of that tail in tact as possible. I am thinking I will use something really small for an end graft.

and you're right, that is an MDF bridge. New design idea.

BRW would really go well as a binding scheme there Brock, seeing as the fb and bridge are both BRW

It would make that dark grain line in the sides really stand out.

What ever you choose, this is going to be one nice guitar. Show pics when it's done please.

Lars,
The "helix" rosette that I showed is pretty labor intensive and I only use it on special occasions. The tiles are individually fitted. For example, the small tile for the inside of the helix is irregularly-shaped, and is cut with a chisel. The larger tile for the outside of the helix is a parallelogram and is easily cut on a small mitre box.

Here is whats on my workbench. A pair of electric mandolins one is a six string the other a 4 string.

A pair of Billy Gibons FYJIMO's matching guitar and bass. There is also a Les Paul Standard, Tiger maple top and one P90 in the bridge position and one 58 style Flying V with one humbucker in production (Not Shown).

Cool tools, Steven! Very creative stuff. Gotta like the Rick, too. And the rare Marshall keyboard!
