I managed to not botch the neck on this little box. Here is the final version. Now it sits for a week or so before setup. But the sound jumped out strong on the first strum. (whew )

Lots of interesting details in a really appealing package. She's a beauty!

The neck lams are koa, some kind of rosewood, and goncolo alves (center section) No color added anywhere except on the top of course.

Bill I plan on bringing this to the gathering on the 21st if I can get it set up by then.

I really love the detail and the overall look of this beauty, John. That is the most vintage looking box I've seen here. Except maybe for the cutaway, that thing looks 1800ish to me.

That koa neck is to die for. I always wondered what that would look like... WOW! Even matches the bindings! Sweet!

That tobaco-ish burst is really amazing too. Complements the other elements of the guitar superbly.

Hmmm, a BRW guitar with flamed koa neck and bindings... It must sound expensive, I'm sure!!!

Woa! Dang! That's a knockout, John. Along with that gorgeous wood, lots of nice little touches - that leaf down on the headstock by the ramps that carries down on the fb. Nice slight taper on the endgraft. Sure would like to see a closeup of the rosette.

Wow super gorgeous.So how do you make a pyramid bridge?I`m in the middle of a 000 12 fret now and I`d like to make one.It seems like one side of the pyramid would be difficult.I`m not even sure of all the dimensions.

   The original demensions of the pyramid bridge was 6 inches by one inch. (I am pretty sure about that) If my memory serves me that demension was deemed too small a gluing surface for longer scale lengths (that had higher string tension) My 000's have a 25.5 inch sl as standard so I made the bridge a little bigger. It is 6.25 inches long and 1.125 inches wide.
    The hardest part is to make the edges of the string attachment platform square and crisp and at right angles to the long axis of the bridge. I use a chain saw file for that operation and clamp the blank on my vice right at the point where I want that edge to be so that the vice serves as a guide. Once those are cut, the rest is easy. File a flat on each end that goes back the distance of one half the width of the bridge. Then make angled flats on each side of the bridge that form a ridge in the center. Then, I round over that ridge so that only one peak is left. The rounding needs to look intentional and all the straight edges need to be crisp. It really is not a pyramid the way I make them, and I think I am following CFM's original design.   I use a lot of files to shape the bridge.
