Anyone know how to do this? I've tried the "right-click, save target as" stuff...no go...and a 3rd party "KeepVid" application....doesn't work...can this be done or have "They" found a way around it?

Thanks!

Not suppose to be able to do it. Though I'm sure someone, somewhere has developed a way to do so.
This "not able to save" is what gets them out of many copyright problems.

Ah! Okay, guess I better stop trying to save them then! I just wanted to be able to access some of them when offline. Thanks Paul!

I wouldn't give up too quickly- Google turns up a pile of methods for doing this.

Try:
http://youtubevideosdownload.com/download/

You will need a .flv player as well:
http://www.download.com/FLV-Player/3000-2139_4-10467081.html

I just tried it and it seems to work. I had to switch to IE from Firefox to get the 'Save Target' when I right-clicked. If you are using IE already, this will not be a problem.

Cheers

Hi James,
Well, I have the DivX and FLV players, went and pasted the link at Vixy and neither player will open it...

Hey Larry

What you do is paste the url of the page with the FLV into the URL field of
vixy.net. In the popdown menu you'll choose which file format you
would like to save it in. It converts the file and downloads it to your
computer.

I love this one. You can see comment (Christoid7) 3 down You'd
paste the YouTube URL:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bljnbWVO6j4)

into Vixy.net. Select the format you'd like from the popdown menu, and
click convert. The download starts automatically for me, but you may
need to initiate it as it tells you.

I had a problem with saving the vids from vixy itself so I had to open it directly from vixy and save it through Media Player. Works well and the quality actually seems better!

When you say, "open it directly from vixy..."

Two buttons "open" and "save"! If I saved I got no video just sound. That may have been because I didn't have DivX uploaded.

If I "opened", vixy uploaded directly to Media Player then I saved from Media Player itself. Works Great! Are you throughly confused now?

I'm sorry it's not working. It's really smooth for me. I just enter the URL
and it automatically downloads the .mov files to my desktop. Very good
quality and sound.
