I'm not a Christian Worship leader, but I'm married to one. All the time I'm asked to pull up www.iwillworship.com and to print some song out that they are working on.

It never ceases to amaze me that this site has so much music and guitar chords on it. They even have Printer Friendly versions to pop up and make a bazillion copies for all the band members.

Nice resource.

Worship Music available at www.iwillworship.com for Free

It'll likely be taken down soon when CCLI gets wind of it, if they haven't already. I've seen that happen to other similar sites. You might check out your church's agreement/contract with CCLI (which I'm sure your church has), and see if it includes their SongSelect service, which lets you download lead sheets with chords and overhead/projector stuff.

I just know a lot of guitar tab sites have been taken down for legal issues, "terms and legal" page or no. I don't know if CCLI has gone after any or not, I remember clicking on some links to find chords for songs and a lot of times they'd been taken down, or they only show the chord progressions without the lyrics.

Not that I'm a fan of that at all... I lead music at church, too, and pages like these are really valuable.

Thanks Jon. I have noticed my church in the past mentioning royalties and such for using songs and music, so they probably have the service you alluded to in your first post.

These songs are apparently original work and representations of songs folks have worked up themselves and are not direct copies, but renditions. I learned something I didn't know about the site just delving into the fine print. Quite useful.

Thanks Bruce. Upper left hand corner is a picture of where I was about 30 years ago when I figured out I was lost, and I was born again.

Hi Sam and All,
As I understand it, these are interpretations and original work by the submittee of the work they heard. So too the music, it's individual submittee's interpretation of the guitar chords, etc.....

I think that is how they are able to exist as a site. Plus, the terms page makes it very clear that these works are offerred for study only, and are not offerred for sale, etc...

Yep, everyone has to make a living and ripping off the artists is clearly not the intent. The intent is being able to perform the artist's worship material. Who doesn't have a boatload of CD's of their favorite group's work anyway?

I'm glad it's available. Maybe I should download the entire website while it's still available? Grin.
