This is my 1st post Somogyi-Hesh inspired guitar. The 2nd one will be done next week or so. Once I saw Hesh's flamed redwood Peace Guitar, I knew I had to find some of that awesome zoot.

This is a suprise 20th Wedding anniv present a friend of mine is giving to his wife.(Gina) At first strum I think this will be the best sounding guitar I have made!!!!!

The specs:
OOO - 24.9 scale 4.5 at endblock
Flamed redwood - just like Hesh's - from the Zootman
Cocobolo Back and Sides - Epoxied double sides
Ebony binding. Cocobolo/black fiber/mahog lam neck
Waverly golds with snakewood tuners.
White and gold MOP rosette. I hope you like.

That is a fine looking guitar. Good looking job on the inlay too.  I assume Gina is her name not the name of the guitar.  Maybe I should know from other posts, but what is the finish.  I really brings out the beauty of the zoot.

Fantastic Andy!

I too have a soft spot for redwood and this one just looks incredible!
Very tastefully done.

That's a beauty for sure, Andy. The cocobolo back is absolutely killer!!!

I have also switched over to building with double sides. I am currently
building a batch of 3 that will be my first ones with laminate sides - it will
be interesting to see if there is a tonal improvement. From a theoretical
standpoint, the double sides make a whole lot of sense to me.

I might post a few pictures of how I do mine here on the OLF. It really is
quite simple - you just need to figure out how you want to do the
clamping since there are a number of ways to do it.

Peace Out,
Simon

Wow !, Hats off to you Andy. That is SUPERB. The rosette , the binding , the top. It makes for a very striking instrument.

I'm with you on rigid sides . Geez your quick Andy . I honestly don't know how you guys do it !

Cheers Craig

I also note your 3/16 " saddle . I'm also a fan of them. Makes sense to have more of the string contact that important area .
