Well, here it is...000-12 Fret with the following stats:
...EIR B&S(Zootman)
...Adirondack Top (Colonial)
...Ebony bindings, headstock, FB binding & butt wedge
...Abalam rosette
...25.4" scale
...Target 9000 Finish

I like the sound and action...after a day of nut & saddle tweaking).

JJ that's great! Hard to believe it is just your second guitar. Beautiful peghead, very traditional, very subtle, very well executed. Same goes for the rest of the guitar.

JJ,

Looks great! It looks like you went all out on the trim. I really like the headstock inlay.

What's your final opinion on the 9000? Are you going to use it again?

John...thanks...looking at your efforts over the past 2 years has gone a long way in inspiring me.

Bruce...I was disappointed in the 9000 for many of the reasons that you described plus my still unsolved mystery of the blotching. My next effort will be with KTM-9. If that doesn't satisfy my quest, I'll return to Nitro and never look back.

Tracy...I'm working on 2 Parlors...one using Walnut and Redwood and the other with Cherry and Sitka. I plan to finish one with KTM-9 and the other in Nitro. The bodies are completed and I'm doing the necks as time permits. I also have a Les Paul-type that has been collecting dust for a year now.

Jeff...I used Waverly's. They're absolutely beautiful, and should be for the price. More importantly, they operate smoothly and with no gear backlash. I already bought another set for one of the Parlor Twins. The other will have a set of Gotohs from LMI that Hank Mauel recommended (for 1/3 the price). There aren't a lot of choices for slotheads.

Beautiful job JJ!! I absolutely love that 12-fret OOO body style. Also the ebony binding does a really nice job of framing the guitar's shape. Very tasteful choices with respect for tradition. If you're looking for slothead tuners in the future, Grover 18:1 open-backs are available from Stew-Mac (and others) and are quite good & very reasonable priced. Not on par with the Waverly's of course, but nice.

Thanks to all for the kind comments...I only have an opportunity to get a peer review every year or so and nervously look forward to the annual report card.

Steve...The headstock treatment represents my 3 sons...I started years ago using 3 green dots as an identifier on my golf balls and carried it over to the headstock. The triangular label is the reciprocal of the triangle on the headstock.

This guitar is destined to be passed down to my oldest son...he wants it now but will just have to wait for 3-6 months while I enjoy the test ride.

One of these years, I'll just have to make one for myself...perhaps the Waterfall Bubinga!

I hear you there, it's one thing to have friends and family tell you that you've done a great job, something else again when you hear it here too.

You've done a great job BTW , I'm gonna do a 12 fret OOO after the next one, they are such an awesome guitar.

Wow, Number 2 you say? Great job! I am going to have to try a slot head sometime.

JJ - I am currently giving KTM-9 a try and am really liking it. I was using the Colortone stuff from StewMac and was not happy with it. The KTM goes on erally flat and is super clear. I'll post some pics and give a review when the guitar is done in a few weeks.
