I originally built this for the Newport guitar fest, but due to the fact that I SET IT ON FIRE i had to make a new neck and replace the top. This guitar was a journey for me to say the least.

Very nice guitar. The more I build the more I believe in the course of "fate" that you are destined to follow and so don't get as upset with these things as I used to. Usually they teach you more in the long run but they do cost money

I presume that this is not the normal method for doing a sunburst

Nitro finish + heat lamp = poof!

i had noticed that my bridge had creeped a bit when i glued it on, so I decided to remove and reset it. I was distracted for only a few seconds, and completely scorched the top. The pain was esquisite!



but it gave me the opportunity to make a rosette that i like a lot better. The back and sides are brazilian, the new top is adirondack, and the pearl is a nice batch of green abalam, which had more clear and pink than green. thanks for asking.

I will always be a student of this craft.

Hey Matt, nice guitar. While the old top looked nice, the new one really pops. That's about as close to perfection as most people get buddy. Very fine!!!

So, did you change the bridge too? Looks like the original may have been a pyramid and the new one a belly bridge. I assume the original bridge got torched too?
