I'm getting ready to inlay the end graft on my first guitar and I was wondering what type of glue or cement most of you use for this. It's an ivoroid end piece and has two strips of plastic purfling that go down the sides. Which works better - CA or Duco (or Weld on)?

Ive only used DUCO for plastic/ivoride bindings. I've heard you can wipe the gluing edges with acetone to sofen them up and then glue with tightbond or LMI white.

for endgrafts we always used CA when at pantheon. They may do it
different now, so I can't say, but I did hundreds with CA and it worked like
a charm.

I have done the acetone and titebond but use CA now when doing plastic.

When using CA, do you apply directly to the end graft and then flood along the purfling lines?

I use a combination made up od wood with plastic purfling strips that I get from Martin.

I get everything fit up real well then flood it with CA. Haven't seen a problem with it yet.

I apply medium viscosity CA to the bottom of the channel. fit the graft and wick edges with thin viscosity CA

I just used thick CA for the whole kit and caboodle.
