OK, let's get this party started! I'm at work (yes, I'm goofing off while at work), but later tonight I'll post photos of the following:

1) A brand new Veritas MK II honing guide, box included. This is essentially unused. It was taken out of the box in order to learn that I don't like it.

2) A set of gem-quality Quilted Sapele, dread sized. Photos of this can be seen on Don Williams' website. (Actually, I have 3 sets of this glorious wood, and it is sensational).

3) A significant number of high quality EIR fretboards and bridge blanks (very thick, terrific quartered grain). I probably have 6-8 fretboards, and an equivalent number of bridge blanks (2 bridges per blank).

I'm sure I'll be adding more stuff to this, but this is just off the top of my head. So, toss me anything you might want to trade, or make any kind of reasonable cash offer you might want to make (which you can do by PM if you'd prefer).

What I'm looking for, ideally:

A good shooting plane
Nut files
An endgraft jig
Wood (hey, I'm a woodaholic)
Bridge making jig
Etc.

Bill

Whoops, jumped the gun. Photos of the Quilted Sapele CANNOT, I repeat, CANNOT be seen on Don Williams' website. He's already taken the photos down...AND Lance clearly said not to link/reference to someone else's website. (My apology for being a dope, won't happen again.)

Sorry about that, and I would've fixed it quickly if there had been an edit button.

Bill

PS: But it is really nice wood!

Well the point of the "no linking" thing was to not make a post that says "Everything on my site is 10% off, go there and check it out."

If you want to link to a pic of the wood or something clearly that is ok. And... you can also embed a picture within the thread by using the "tree" icon.

Just to clarify...

Here's a photo of the EIR fretboard and bridge blanks. I have 6 of each:

Here is a photo of the Quilted Sapele. I have 3 sets of this that are essentially identical, all cut from the exact same board. I'll take $175 a set cash, or they can be used for trade bait. Thanks for looking!

Michael:

Just checked the sets. The flame absolutely does not "run out" in the upper bouts. Solid as a rock, on all 3 sets. But thanks for allowing me to clarify.

Bill

Are you looking to sell all three sets of sapele, or just the one?

Lex: I'll let all 3 go if it comes down to it, but so far I'm dickering over wood trades only - and nothing that has come to fruition. I've had no cash offers.

Peter: I appreciate it greatly, but I'm moving away from the exotics, and more back to basics (mahog., EIR, etc.). It is beautiful though!

My apologies, but I'll be "in the car" today, long distance driving to do a presentation for work, and then long distance driving back home. I won't be able to check in on this thread, or PMs, until sometime tonight. I'm headed out now. If you wonder why I don't respond to the threads today, that's the only reason.

Thanks for your patience!

Hello Bill,

I'd like to buy 2 fretboard & 2 bridge blanks.

What do you want for them?

Robert

Bill, I won't be needing the honing jig anyways. Madinter just told me they are sending one along with some wood I ordered because they were out of some clamps they were going to throw in for free, strange coincidence!

Shane:

My sincerest apology on the delay answering your question. I've work working on the details on a few early trades/offers for the sapele, and the last deal just went though. I'm all out. Thank you so much though!

Bill

Honing guide is gone, one way or the other, to John.
