I'll start by saying I am neither a wood specialist nor a professional luthier. I have over the last year or two acquired a couple of nice pieces of wood for my own use, when they get cut up I usually end up with 4-6 sets that look pretty well identical so would like to trade some. I have done my best to note any flaws in the wood, all of the resawing is imperfect but can be sanded out. They are all kiln dried and quarter sawn.

My preference is to trade for other wood, sender pays shipping. Due to vacation I will not be able to ship until the beginning of June. I'm also looking for a bridge pin hole reamer and a peterson VS tuner of some type if I should be so lucky...on with the zoot!

African Satinwood, this is Movingui or swartzia fistuloides. Note there is a little discoloration which can be clearly seen, a couple of checks that have been stoped with CA that won't extend into a dreadnought or smaller and a 0.1" pin hole in each piece of the back pieces (look for the arrow in the photos pointing to this). You can have a side set with sapwood or without, your choice. The back is large enough to cut out the sapwood if you choosed. Size is 23.5x9.75 and 35x5.25 sloping to 4.75. Two sets available.

Next is some buginga. Some figure but not as wild as some that's available. Large enough to cut out the sapwood if you choose. 9.25X24 and 33x 6.5.

Next is Honduran Mahongany, 8.25x22.5 and 34x5.25 sloping to 4.25.

Finally some Pau Rosa. Personally I love this wood. This set is big enough to cut out the sapwood on either the backs or the sides but I can't imagine why you would. 9x23 and 33x5.75. One of the back pieces has cupped a little which is shown in the last photo - I think this is manageable.

I also have some spalted maple for rosettes and some non figured sapele and striped khaya which I don't have photos of.

I should have noted I am in Canada, shipping within North America is no problem.

Prices Dave??

I'd be interested in the Pau Rosa.

My preference would be to trade for other wood rather than sell. If no trades work out I would consider selling at the end. If you happened to live near Toronto it would be easier to sell since payment and shipping wouldn't be an issue.

The Pau Rosa is now gone. The Satinwood, Mahogany and Buginga are still up for grabs.

Hi Dave, what would it take to get you to let go of the mahogany and the bubinga?

Hey Red, just so you the good Dr. is in Italy at the moment so he may not answer.

Take this to him in a PM and I'm sure he'll get back to you when he's back.

He said he would rather trade material, so take some pics of what you have and I bet you guys wil come up with something.

The reason I know this is because I made a trade with him for the Pau Rosa.
