Hey folks

I'm looking for a stray Koa side to make some bindings and end graft (tail wedge for Hesh) out of. I'd like something that has a good amount of figuring in it. If anyone has anything post pics and let me know what you want for it.

That's OK Rod, you can pick on Paul, I just had to take a bunch of pics for him as well !

If you remain stuck I probably have some aussie blackwood that will work, although it may all be in the binding form already....but I can look if you are stuck I probably have some that I haven't cut into bindings already. It looks right like Koa.

Thanks Shane,I was thinking that Aussie Blackwood would be an other great option.

I think I'd like more figuring in the material than what I see in the picture.

I know, I know, how picky can a guy get. I want to make it right though.

This will go on the Imbuia/Cedar Celtic guitar so spaced with w/b/w side and top purflings, I think that Koa or AB would really look good.

Rod, sorry for the bad pics. We were literally trying to get out the door for a school function and I wanted to at least get you something. In reality, it's probably not what you are looking for. Very little figure. I'd check with the guys at volcano. If you strike out there, drop me a line. You are more than welcome to this board but it really has very little figure.
Oh and yes you are starting to sound like a woman. Especially since you noticed my shoes, that's such a woman thing to do. So, Nancy, let me know if you still need me to shoot pics.

OH DANG!! How did that shoe get in there! Sorry bout that!

I just put some lacquer thinner on the piece. It is about .125 thick, sanded both sides to 80 grit. You can see a bit of sap wood showing up on the bottom edge.

Hope this work for you, otherwise it goes back into my box of figured bits for rosettes and stuff.

Hmmm, Shane I would have pegged you for a pump man rather than a clog man.

We should be able to help you out. If you can let me know what kind of figure/color you're looking for I can see if I can come up with something.
