Well, I've seen everyone post their progress pics so here's mine. It's not quite complete yet (in fact it's hard for me to force myself to take the intonator off, quit playing her for a while, and finish her off.

It's my first of hopefully many guitars.
Dreadnought
Black Walnut B&S
Spruce Top
Mahogany Neck
Ebony Bridge, Fretboard and Head Plate
Maple Binding
I plan to do an attempt at French Polish on this one.

Its looking good...I know the temptation to continuing to play it unfinished...there is nothing more satisfying than when you first string up a guitar and hear its sound for the first time...you are right, you dont want to put it down.

Keep up the good work...it looks like you are hooked

Thanks everyone.

It's got plenty of mistakes, but even with that, it's turned out better than I expected. It's been a long drawn out process since I started with no woodworking tools and had to buy everything as I needed it.

I've actually been delaying taking off the strings because my girlfriends mom is coming down from Michigan, and will be here this Sunday. I promised her that I would leave the strings on so she could hear how it sounds. But hopefully soon I'll find the time to make the saddle and sand it down nice and smooth to get ready for the French Polish.

Hesh, actually it's not an adjustable bridge. I know it's hard to tell from the picture, but those are actually golf tees. I drilled holes in the bridge to hold up to 6 golf tees. You never know when you'll be out on the course with your guitar and not know where your golf tees are.

I don't have definite plans for #2, but I bought supplies for 2 as I was building this one, so it will be of the same materials,but I really want to try a cut away. I'm just not sure if I'm ready for that yet. How much harder is a cut away?

A cutaway is a little extra work and attension but not difficult. by the looks of your #1, you should not have a problem.

I got a wonderful little chestnut from a very wise luthier. He told me that the sign of a good guitarmaker is not in perfect execution but in the ability to recover. Sage advise I think. Great looking work.

You have a lonely instrument there and the sooner you protect it with a finish the better. The opportunity to put some dings and dents in it will increase with the length of time it remains unprotected. Don't ask how I know.

Billy - Man you wouldn't believe how the water would run off it.  Guitars designed for doing concerts in the rain.  You could probably even use it for a boat.
