Hello all,
Here are pics of my first two guitars (built together) ready for French
Polish.

No 1.
Back Sides and Neck are black walnut, top is red cedar, binding and
rosette birch and black walnut.

No 2.
Back and sides tulip poplar, neck black walnut, binding purfling and rosette
black walnut and boxwood, fingerboard rosewood.

How innovative!!!

I love both the guitars, but the smaller "lute" really draws me in with that wonderful soundhole.

Those are your first and second????

If that is how you start, I really want to be around when you hit your groove! Those are amazing and will really be stunning when you get them finished. It is so nice to see something different, and have definately accomplished that. Please make sure to post pictures when you are done.

Those are great looking instruments. Can't believe they are 1 & 2. Innovative design with beautiful woods all blended together very well.

Whoa, is that neat or what? Very, very innovative!!! I'm really impressed overall, but especially like how well you repeated the body shapes on the soundholes and pegheads. Just super!!

Thats one of the most interesting departures I have seen in a while - some ppl just have to be different eh?

Here are pic's of the box pre closing.
First I glued down the heel and end blocks, then I glued the corner blocks
to the bottom side, then, the bottom side down to the top, then, I glued
the sides (one at a time) on.
The heel block has holes drilled in it to remove a little weight since it is a
little bigger than usual

(there were some tricky clamping
procedures

)

Beautiful work Jebarri!
And thanks for posting the inside pictures.
It looks like it can be a bit more work to make the different shape but well worth it for originality.
It also looks like the design would not interfere with the sound producing capabilities of the instrument either. I wonder if you could have done without a tail block?
I like them both!

Hmmm.. Hadn't thought of that, I figured for a strap button you would need
one but maybe a smaller one?

I really, really like the body shape of #2. One of things
where only after you see it do you say to yourself: yes, exactly. Wonderful design sense.
