Welcome Mark.  OLF is a great place to hang out.  I take it you are a builder or a wanna-be?  If you are just beginning, and looking for information and help, you have come to the right place.  If you are an accomplished builder, and have information you would like to share, you've come to the right place.  If you just like to hang out and talk about guitar construction and look at amazing examples of incredible talent at work, you've come to the right place.

It seems, you've come to the right place.

Welcome aboard Mark. We will look forward to your contributions and expertise. This is a great forum and there is always an excellent variety of information, topics and sharing going on.

There have been many discussions lately on top tuning and possibly you could share with us some of your hard earned lessons and how to go about it effectively and efficiently.

So Mark, I obviously do not know your work.  You have still come to the right place.

Choose option 2 above, and we'll all be waiting with bait breath for your posts.

Very nice web site Mark.  Thanks Lillian for putting the link there.  I'm ready for the sharing process to begin, since I have so much to learn, and every new perspective brings better understanding.

Thanks for the warm welcome...

Waddy:  Option 3 looks pretty good too !

Peter:   I am actually in the process of writing a talk on how I use Chladni patterns in my own work. I will be giving the talk on Sunday morning at the upcoming Healdsburg guitar festival. I'll chime in here as well, when appropriate.

Hesh: Oh, so you are the one who has been visiting my site .

Mark

Yeah, that one's OK too.
I really like the look of the lattice bracing pattern on your classical top.  Beautiful guitars, all!

I'm still fairly new here (and to building) but welcome either way. You have quite an extensive repertoire of guitars that you build, each looks quite amazing, and I am sure they sound even better.

Hope you don't mind answering basic questions from time to time... I have plenty

Hello Mark, and welcome to the OLF!

I’ve been to your website, and I have to say your guitars are impeccably beautiful!

There are some very fine guitar builders here, and some aspiring ones (Like myself) as well.
Your presence will be a wonderful addition to the OLF. You’ll find that there are people here at
every level of experience, and a wide variety of personalities. We’re a diverse group, and IMHO,
that’s what makes the OLF a fun and interesting place to be. Moreover, the OLF offers an
atmosphere of comradery. There is a genuine willingness to help here, and for a beginning guitar
builder, like myself, that’s a major plus!

So, again, Welcome! And, I’ll be looking forward to reading about your guitar building experiences.

Robert

Hi Mark! I'd like to add my voice to the Welcome. It will be nice having you here!

I had the opportunity to meet Mark at the ASIA symposium, and I have to say, that Mark is not only a great builder, but also a very nice guy.

Blanchard, you old snow-bound luthier. Good to see you here. How are you and Kath doing up there, a stones throw from Canada?

See you at Healdsburg in a couple months.

Hi Mark,

I've never seen one of your guitars, but I own a Silent Partner. You've single-handedly added more horror and bliss in my life than any other person. :D Welcome!
