Fynny as it may seem, there is a guy selling spruce that he calls "wonderwood" (I realize people don't usually bend spruce), he has even got another name for "his" spruce trademaked! I find this guy's marketing hype so over the top that it is actually quite amusing.

I like your respons too, though!
Myrtle?
Congratulations

Well done Don.

Not a lot to go on there I know, but the wood in question
is Tasmanian Myrtle( Nothofagus cunninghami).

Not the tiger variety but the same tree.

It's an OM we're building for the son of one of my mates for his 18th birthday. They live in Tasmania and wanted to have some connection in the guitar.

Here's a better pic.

PM me a postal address Don and I'll send 'em to you.

Thanks for joining in everyone. Very enjoyable.

Cheers

I know! I know!  Tasmanian Blackheart Sassafras!
Guess I took to long on the Tiger Myrtle guess.  I should have refreshed first.

Not really Waddy. The Tiger part of it is just spalting like in Maple.

Cheers

Cool! This may be about the only thing I've ever won in my entire life!
I feel fortunate to own a small amount of myrtle, of the wide-curly variety, and a few sets of really killer tiger myrtle. It's a nice looking wood for sure.
Thanks Bob! I'll have to save that bridge for a special project...maybe with some blackwood or the tiger myrtle.

Arnt, that reminds of the 91 year old gentleman who manages our library at work. At last years birthday party, he said that everybodys got the the idea of retire all wrong. He said its just like an old car - sometimes you just have to take a break and re-tire and then keep on rolling. Don't let the Don fool ya.
