Beautiful guitar!

And I really like the way you put that rosette together! Quite unique!

Wow, thanks for all the kind words, everybody!  Will see if I can drag it along to work today and sneak into the booth to get a sound clip or two, as promised!  Yep, I'm definitely hooked now, have #2 in the works.  A twin to this one, but with an Engelman top and padauk b/s this time.

Carlton - I stopped the fingerboard where I did because I wanted the rosette visible 360 as you said...plus, I can't reach that high without a cutout anyway!

Christian - Just about 180 hours overall, I'd guess.  Started on Dec 26th, drew my first profile on plexi and have spent every possible spare moment since then on the guitar itself, or in making jigs and tools (drum sander, presses, dishes, bender).  The rest was uncharted territory for me, so I tried to research as much as I could and take it kinda slow.  The next one will go faster, for sure.

Great job Jon!

I can't believe you did side purfling on #1, very impressive!
I'm just starting #4 and am still him-hawing over attempting the side
purfling.

Would love to see a pic of the end graft area.

Lovely work, Jon.
And that Granadillo is just gorgeous.
Is that some of the wood from Hibdon?

Thanks, Chris!  I was going to try to mitre the purfling, but hadn't realized that the stuff I had was b/w/b...but the purfling on the binding itself was actually w/b/w. So I said heck with it, it's my first and just wrapped the binding all the way around and ignored purf on the end graft this time.
