I have looked at LMII and Stewmac, and basically they both have the same pre-made rosettes for sale. I have found sources for buying paua, ablam and MOP rosettes. Are there other suppliers with more of a wide range of choices? (wood rosettes, etc)??

A wood supplier here near me has some - they are extras that Marc Beneteau made up and is no longer using - they are 1/4 inch wide wood rings, perfect for adding inner and outer lines or shell to. They are in a bunch of wood types, BRW, ziricote, padauk, EIRW, others I cant remember. He also left them bunches of binding and matching back strips.

Try calling them, exotic woods, Burlington Ontario Canada, 905 335 8066.
I have a number of shots of assembly, so worth a post on the how-too if you are interested.
I'd be interested in seeing that tutorial posted. I just saw one on the new "OLF Tutorial" page, but I'd like to see another method too.

I sell some unusual Acoustic Guitar Rosettes that are hand made in Russia, and made specifically for my company. The only problem is that I only sell 3 different styles. These are handmade in russia, and are the highest quality available. You can see them HERE

Best of luck!
Tracy

I like to match the rosette with the back and sides.  Other than the koa and walnut from LMI, I have also bought from Kevin Murray at Blue Mountain Acoustics in Oregon.  He carries more than the two types and has even cut me others to match myrtle, koa and sapele back and side sets that I got from him or sent pictures.

Maybe Thomas Herrman can help you (apart from mentioned Karin Rost -> sorry: not Roste).

Both are German based, as I am. If you need any help just send a mail.

Great information and much appreciated!

I have checked them all out and e-mailed for pricing. (I also checked out your rosettes Tracy!)

I also found a web site that detailed how to make rosettes with any design you desire... good info.

Thanks for all the replies!

Thanks Ken.  That is a great site.  Lots of info on guitar construction besides rosettes.  It is a lot like Schramm's CD on classicals except for steel string construction.  Nice find.
