Someday I'm going to add a 12-fret slope shoulder to my offering. I hope it turns out half as good as yours, John. It really looks great.

A beautiful guitar! The 12 fret dread is a banjo killer of a guitar - once
you play these canons - smaller guitars seem like blunderbuses.

Of the guitars I play, among the favorites is a Martin D-15S made out of
Sapele. It's a bottom of the line Martin, a workingman's guitar, but
compared to other dreadnaughts I know, it has a tone that I like more,
maybe it could be described as a little mellower and fuller that the 14 fret
version and that for sure has as much to do with the sapele top as the
guitar shape. But with the shear size of the body, it definately pumps out
some serious sound. For playability, the wider neck, 1 3/4" at the nut, is
something I appreciate more & more and now and prefer.

I'm wondering if you could share some of the details of construction -
bracings, & other dimensions, etc. and how they compare or differ from
the Martin standard, for example your neck at the nut is a hair wider.

My D-15S measures:

box length - 21"
upper bout - 11 5/8"
waist - 10 3/4"
lower bout - 15 5/8"
length of the body - 21"
neck length at the nut - 1 3/4"

Again, you've made a beautiful piece and I imagine it sounds wonderful as
well. Keep up the good work.

Thanks again guys. I appreciate your comments.
John, I will look at the guitar tomorrow and respond to some of your questions with more specific measurements, but generally I can say that the lower bout is exactly like a regular Martin Dread. The upper bout is a little stretched.   The nut is actually 1/16 inch narrower than the standard Martin D-12 nut which is normally 1 and 7/8 inch.
