Greetings OLFERS!

I just went through and deleted about 10 "new members" in the members section. Every single one was linked to "band content" web page, i.e. porn, spam and even malware sites.

I am calling out for help from our "LIGIT" members to help keep this garbage off the OLF.

If you notice a new member or old member that has this type of content listed in there profile. Please let Brock or I know ASAP and we will delete that account immediately! No questions asked, NO second chance!

I have a ZERO TOLERANCE for this type of stuff.

Thanks Everyone!
Please help keep the OLF -G- rated.

lance, i would be glad to help if i knew what was bad about a "band content" web page? seems to me bands are one major potential sort of client. are there now bands which promote porno and computer chicanery?

did you mean "banned" content? or is "band content" a term of art amongst computer wizards, related to band width perhaps?

and what should we be looking for as clues to malefactors?

Thanks Michael,
It is a typo, should be "banned" I did happen to follow that typo with "i.e. porn, spam and even malware sites."

There has been a flurry of porn spam members joining up on forums lately, for some strange reason.

I've been deleting up to ten new members a day on the guitar forum I moderate (Jam Session). Never seen anything like it.

Lance, you need to get a speelchecker on this forum!

You think this is bad? I went through Google yesterday to look for "paint stripper" that was compatable with aluminum. Got a long list, especially aircraft related. Clicked on a few and all was fine, but on the fifth "site" (which certainly looked harmless on the Google listing) I got an entire page of porn pics. Right in my face.
Talk about a sick bunch of folk roaming the Internet.
(No religious point here) but if Sodom and Gemorrah got wiped out for what they did, how far behind can we be?

Keep at it Lance. Wipe those guys out immediately!

I used to have a comment/log on my website but had to remove it because I was constantly deleting porn and drug spam. It is certainly a pain it the back side.
You think this is bad? I went through Google yesterday to look for "paint stripper" that was compatable with aluminum.
When I was in college, me and a few buddies were relaxing in the dorm one afternoon and a cheaply produced TV commercial for a paint removal product called "Easy Stripper" came on. At the very end, they showed a well-endowed spokesmodel for a few seconds wearing a t-shirt that said Easy Stripper across the front, we fell out of our chairs laughing.

Try and have a serious conversation and you let in a bunch of clowns. Reminds me of those skinny worm guys from men in black... Any way I enjoy the humor.

Same thing happened to me! Not only that, it kept on happening every time I did that search!
