I have had this idea for some time, its a way to include the participation of all the OLF members in a single fun project.
I propose a wall calendar, for the year 2006.
Each month will feature a high res, high gloss image of a guitar built by a member of the OLF. There are obviously only 12 months to work with, so what Id like to do is hold a vote, ill offer up a plate of pics, and assign each one a number, then you can vote on which one you'd like for Jan, then again for Feb, etc. When all 12 have been selected, we'll go to print. Here is where it would be good to know how many people would be interested in purchasing an OLF calendar, and how much money your willing to spend? The higher the dollar amount, the nicer the calender can be.

As for pictures, id ask you email me the very best representation of your guitars that you have, be it a close up of your rosette, a full body shot, or a sweet close up of your bracing, be artistic, and keep it to 3 submissions per person. Ill resize and make a gallery we can view all of them in.

So, what are your thoughts? Interests? Ideas?
Another thing that would be helpful, is if there are any graphic artistes out there willing to help design the calendar after the images are selected. Id also like to look into having special dates highlighted, for instance, the Newport Guitar festival, have it noted on the calendar.

You in?

I'm in.

Are you ready to start collecting pictures? What is the latest that we would need to have the pictures in?

As for how much I would be willing to spend to buy one. Well if it goes to support the form I'd be willing to spend a lot more than I usually would on a calendar.

Lance,

I'm in too. I don't mind spending a little more for a nicer product either.

To get these printed check out OFOTO.com. It is a Kodak company.

They do a pretty nice job on short runs of calendars. My family gives a calendar of the kids to the grandparents every year.

Lance, if there are enough really good pics, perhaps we could do more than one per month. sort of a montage' if you will.
As an ex-graphic designer I'd be happy to take care of the ugly part of this if you need me to. Also, my dad is a printer and could probably cut me a deal on digital output. (He did however just sell his shop so he only "works" there so we won't be able to get the deal I used to get (read free)). let me know.

I would buy it! I have no pics that I would want in a calendar, but I wouldn't mind looking at others work! As for price, around $20-$30 would be okay.

I don't know if I will have anything to take a picture of (depends on the deadline date), but I would definately be interested in buying a calendar or two.

I think an OLF calendar is a greeaaat idea! I can’t say that I would buy one this year though. I’m extremely tight on money right now due to the purchasing of zoot. If it got to be a yearly thing I would certainly buy one in the future.

Shots of inlays on headstock, etc.. Not full guitars.

If not then O.K!

I'll need to make my own calendar!

Sounds great Lance!
Would you prefer a specific pic size or is file size via e-mail not so much an issue for you?

Yea,
Bob could put together a picture of all the nicest raw wood he could muster. Then we can all drool over it.
