I'm not a big cutaway fan, but I'd vote for C as well. Actually, I'd vote for Don's version as it has a more natural flow.
So after careful deliberations this is what I believe I t will look like. I will include it on the MJ plans for the library of plans. That might push us into a 4 page set.
I like this!!

Besides John when you use a flex curve or French curve it forms true radii connected by tangent lines. It just that you tend to make the tangent lines longer. Computer has really nothing to do with it. I think you were referring to some like this
Actually, I was referring to the idea that there are many different curved shapes (not just circles), even though I suppose you could approximate the shapes of parabolas, ellipses, etc etc with enough arcs of circles.

I'm still a Luddite and draw things with paper and pencil. When doing curved shapes you can use a compass and ruler, or battens/splines/flex rulers. The results are not the same.

Fortunately, the wood usually fairs the curves to some extent in any case, no matter how we draw the plans.

I hope that doesn't push the price even higher than the current level. The OLF plans seem to me to be at the top end of the price range, though it's difficult to tell since only US shipping is specified.

(For you capitalists, there is a concept that you make more money with increased volume and lower unit price....

Well here`s my just completed box finished. Are you all going to say it`s ugly. This is my first steel string build to my own drawn plans. It`s a 16 inch lower bout with some of your lovely native Big Leaf quilted maple.

It sort of interesting to me, how just the slightest difference in curves,
can spark so many different opinions of what is visually pleasing.
For me, its “C”. However, I see nothing wrong with Don Williams idea!
Sometimes “different” is appealing, in some ways, because it is different.

Also, I do believe, that the last change to flush up the fretboard is a much nicer look.

BTW Michael, Great job on the drawings!

Robert

Michael your last rendition looks great and that's what I'd like to see on the OLF plans.. Any deviation on the curves is up to each individual and can be changed very easily.

Bob Deacon your guitar looks terrific.

i voted for C before reading the rest of the comments. i really do like the look and the resemblance to the lowden. but more than that i appreciate michael's concern for snapping sides with the tighter radius. i appreciate the warning and the grief you're saving us.
the shape is beautiful. hope it's not too long before we see that shape in some blingy woods on the forum.

Glad to see it come together.
