Then all you gotta do is lay the bar across it to find the other chords. I used to mess around some on a lap steel (got plans to build one for myself) tuned in open "E" and tried a Dobro in open "G", but never tried in "D". Anyway, I like that thing.

That looks really nice, Todd.  Good work there.  I didn't even know weissenborns existed until I got to this forum.  They really are cool.

Looks really good Todd! I like the simplicity of these instruments (maybe not simplicity... hmm I don't really know the word I'm looking for). Definitely very clean!

What is the total weight of it? How was the khaya to work and do you think it would make a good guitar as well? Tired of my questions?

Thanks for sharing!

Todd,

That looks really sweet I wouldn't say it looks simple I'd say it looks elegant. Great workmanship. Are you pleased with the sound? They sure do rumble!

Don't worry about the fretwork - take Rick's advice and practice on a lot of "beaters" and you'll get it sussed in the end and at the same time you'll suss out the the intonation too
Dave...too funny...we now have inside Weissenborn jokes. When are you starting your double neck
Todd,

I showed Martha the Paddy Burgin videos and the begging/pleading has already started Current negaotiations have it as her Christmas/birthday present which would make it February 2008. All I have to do now is find some woods . . . oh, and work out how to make it work

I agree with Dave White, It looks elegant. Love the headstock veneer. If mine comes out looking half as good as yours, I will be very happy. Great Job!
