Hi All

I am planning a pay it forward ukulele for my church to help replace a heat exchanger..The ukulele in question will be made of sycamore b&s and a cedar of lebenon neck what kind of top do you guys think would work well I have some lightly flamed koa and some sitka spruce. If neither of these two would work does anyone have any suggestions.

Thanks!

It's hard to go wrong with spruce for a uke top. You can take it nice and thin...down to 2mm or so. I wouldn't mix figured woods with top, back and sides unless you want a kind of harlequin kind of look.

Oh, what sycamore are you talking about? European sycamore is what we call maple. I use California sycamore for ukes which is a whole other thing. On those we do top, back, and sides, and they're wonderful.
