I just came back from a trip to Honduras and while I was there, I was some pretty guitars. I just thought that you all would like a little look

I don't know, Rob. I'll ask him when I see him again. I do know it was a 4 hour drive to the village from where they landed.

Very interesting! I like the sound board designs and also the multi colored fret board in the second photo. The guitars in your first photo must be the budget models. They certainly wanted to make sure they had a substantial bridge. But I gulp when I look at the wooden friction tuning posts. I can barley tune with 16:1 geared ones.

I never said that these were NICE guitars. Just that I thought they were visually appealing. The guitars in the first photo cost 1500 lempira, which is about $75. Not an amazing guitar at all.

Makes me miss that place...well...except for the heat and bad food!

Actually, I really like the flat sawn (?) sides in the first photo. The last guitar is has a very nice design on the sound board. I wish that I could find a blog I once had about a Philippine Luthier working in an open hut with only a few hand tools. He actually, made some very nice looking guitars that were supposed to sound pretty good too. Its always fun doing a little exploring while on travel.
