We shipped "most" of our stuff to LMI yesterday. However, I am attaching the neck and bridge to my last HB guitar tonight. This one will make the trip on the plane. Anyone else pushing to get ready?

Tim, do you ever have any problems carring on a guitar? I will be shipping mine out Monday. I was thinking about carring on one of them.

Lance, sometimes they let you to put it in the closet up in the front of the plane.

I got mine shipped out yesterday as well, what a strange feeling not having anything to do today.

i did a 20 mile bike ride, maybe I can trim off a pound or two before the big show.

I had to refinish a neck will get installed tomorrow.
I'm taking them all on the plane in the clam shell cases (case extreme). That's what I did going to Montreal and it worked great.
See you all there.

Yup indeed. And I'm really much less nervous with them than I would be shipping them UPS.

Me, too, Lance. About one hour ago. Actually on two, a jumbo guitar with carbon fiber top binding...interesting and a real pain in the a**...and a tenor uke with flying buttresses and a bunch of tricks...

Not me. I'm going out to the patio and sip a cool glass of lemonade. Strung up the last guitar this morning and am now assembling what needs to go to the Festival.
This is just another example of how the treachery of old age will win out over the enthusiam of youth!
I think I may also take a nap!

I'm shooting MEK catalyzed poly.

West 105 epoxy pore filler with the 206 fast set catalyst with brown phenolic microballoons added as a thickener. Then sand back, shoot two coats of McFadden rosewood sealer, scuff, then three coats of McFadden polyester topcoats.   I'll superglue the bridge on.   I think the epoxy fill can get this down to a three and a half day finish process from start to rubout. It might be faster if I put a heater in a small room right off the spray booth and put the guitars in at about 95 degrees.   If I do that, I'll probably humidify the room so the guitars don't dry out too much.

Rick,
How soon can you take the MEK kicked poly to the buffer without risk of shrinkage? I know you are pushing this one so what is your normal wait time? I have buffed catalyzed urethane in 24 hours but I get some shrinkage. Are you using the same hardener cocktail in your RW sealer? I used to shoot their RW sealer straight from the can and then Peter told me to mix it 5:1 with the hardner. I don't know if it makes much difference in the end? He said to wait the same 1-1/2 hours between coats and there is no need to scuff unless their is dirt to knock down. The finish is still green enough that it will burn in.
