I posted some progress shots of this earlier. Engelmann/Brazilian with Leopardwood binding and bloodwood purfling. Looking forward to meeting lots of you folks next week.

Wow, Kent, that's a nice looking git! Is that a jumbo? Can we see a close-up pic of the florentine? Very nice indeed!

I really like the wood combination. The bloodwood seems to melt perfectly in between the rosewood and leopardwood. Good luck next week!

Florentines are so graceful. I have got to try and include one of my builds one of these days...

Thanks Don. Is it a jumbo? Hmm, you caught me. It started out as a concert model that has grown over the years without the benefit of a name change. It's probably more accurately called an Auditorium.  15 3/4" lower bout.  As for a close up...man it's tough getting good cutaway shots!  Reflections are even worse than on most other shots. I was up till 2am last night shooting this and the other 2 that are going to HGF. Here's the only other good close up.

Ringo, thanks. I love the combo too. My favorite so far.

Yeah, fantastic looking joints on that cutaway. Those aren't easy! I can't quite tell if they're mitered or not, but it sure is nice. I agree with the combination of woods being really great. Nice job.

Thanks all.

Kelby, I only came across leopardwood recently.  Whenever I'm in Seattle, I do a good thorough browse through my favorite lumber yard.  At the time, this was the last board they had of it and a good one with tight, consistent figure.  I have liked it so much that I looked for it again recently to stock up.  They had a bunch more but it wasn't the same color.  More like lacewood in color.  None of the chocolate and tinge of purple the first board had.  Will keep looking though.

Don, those are 3 way miters all around and, not to strum my own G-string, but dang it, they are tight!  I hope to get a chance for someone that actually knows how to use a camera to get some better shots before it goes away.

Very elegant and sexy. I love the understated simplicity. This will be a knockout at the show. Congrats on producing another beauty, and thanks for sharing!

Thanks Andy. Stop by and grab some picks! Thanks for that info, by the way.

Greg, I love the sound.  Warm, strong, and sweet from bottom to top.  It has a really good blend of box sound and projection and you can lightly finger pick or drive it pretty hard. I really like good Engelmann. The stiffer stuff has most of what I like in Sitka but it's like the hard edges are rounded over a bit. The Brazilian seems to add some dark warmth and those crystaline highs (and a fruity nose and berry aftertaste).

Oh man, and I was hoping for the "nutty overtones".  Guess I'll have to let someone else have it.

Sounds as a more presumptuous blend of the guitar craft?   A... delicate melange... of depth and... playfulness!
