Ive been procastenating on doing this for a couple of weeks, but I started yesterday spraying 3 of my current builds. This will end a series of 5 dreads.

Looking at the front picture, they are (from left to right) Englemann, Adi, WRC

 Then looking at the back is (right to left) Sycamore, Ash, Sapele

I went this morning and bought a Hushy HVLP spray gun from Home Depot and BOY am I glad I did! I sprayed all 3 of these guitars with a much better coverage and used about 1/3 of the amount of lacquer that I had been using. Cant wait to string these babys up!

it is one of those walmart special 5 hp Campbell Hausfeld compressors. I have an inline regulator and inline drier also. It has been paqrticularly dry here lately and no wind in the early mornings, so I sprayed them all outside. I am amazed at how efficient the Husky sprayer is over the old Devilbill spray gun I have. The Husky is an overhead cup and the Devilbiss is an old siphon cup model.

The sycamore is a special wood that came from a tree I cut down and then milled into lumber a couple of years ago. The tree was standing in the yard at my local town hall and I milled it with one of my sawmills into lumber. More on that later...

The Ash was brought down from Illinois by a friend of mine who also owns a sawmill. He visited me this spring and brought this wood and a few other kinds of wood which I plan on building with soon. All of the wood he brought me was sawn from logs into lumber by my friend. It is really some pretty stuff.  It really turned out nice and is light as a feather. I cant wait to hear what it sounds like! I have never seen or heard an Ash guitar, but all of the research I could find on it said it made some nice sounding guitars. I'll find out in a few days! The Adi top it has is really nice looking too, and I hope it adds some nice tone to the instrument. I have a couple of experimental things I did on this guitar, so that is the reason I am so anxious to hear it.

The sapele/ englemann guitar is a comissioned guitar. I will have to deliver it next month, so I get to play it a while before it leaves the farm

I'm going to sneak in one curly maple "Prima" (OM) before I get started on the 3 comissioned dreads. It is just one I have been wanting to build and will be for sale when it is done.
