Family vacation is taking us to St. Louis and Branson in about 10 days. I will get to Springfield to see the big Grizzly store, but was hoping for more luthier-interesting things. Any ideas? Thanks.

Donovan

Alvarez is in St. Louis, although I don't know what facilities are actually there. Midwest Guitar, with a school and shop, is in Webster Groves, which is close to St. Louis.

Have fun.

Old Standard Wood is in Fulton, if you're in need of some Adi.

Yep, our sponsor Hibdon is in St. Louis. Also, one of the OLF members moved to Branson recently, I think, but I can't remember who. Maybe he'll chime in.

Thanks for the help guys. I was hoping to get to Hibdon, but it is going to be just the weekend in St. Louis, then to Branson.

Anyone else live out that way?

Jim, do you know if Old Standard Wood is set up for visitors or do they just sell mail order?

Thanks again.

Obviosly I have never visited them so I would not know if they welcome visitors, but the best looking red maple mandolin wood I have comes from Old Standard, they don't have just Adirondack spruce.

I'm not sure about walk-ins, I'd just give them a call. Google adirondackspruce... (obvious URL). Click the price list, phone numbers can be found there. Have fun in Branson. Never spent much time there myself when we were living in Mo. but did  lot of camping in the Lake of the Ozarks area ... gorgeous.

Donovon, I'm sure your familiar with Bill Moll, and his beautiful archtops... He's in Springfield.
